B&G CONSULTANTS TO ASSIST DJ ORTHOPEDICS ON NEW WORLD HEADQUARTERS PROJECT

B&G Consultants has been selected by DJ Orthopedics (DJ) to perform management oversight services for their new $12 million world headquarters building in Vista, California. DJ is the world’s leader in the design and manufacture of therapeutic braces for knee, back, ankle and wrist joints. The new building, a 110,000 square foot, two-story tilt-up concrete and steel structured building, is a build-to-suit project being developed by Professional Real Estate Services, Inc. of Irvine. The building will be located on a green, five-acre site in Vista Business Park adjacent to the current DJ Orthopedics complex, which will be vacated upon completion of the new facility. The building will house executive and administrative support staff, marketing, sales and accounting and research and development departments. B&G will act as representative for DJ in all matters affecting the new building project, including lease letter review, project vendor selection, budget and schedule management, design of the interior improvements and relocation management. PRES, as part of their project team, has selected Ware Malcolm as the site, shell and interiors architect and Swinerton Builders as the general building contractor. The total project has been budgeted at $15 million. Design and permitting is scheduled for completion in July 2005 and construction is slated for the period August 2005 through May 2006.
